We like to travel as a couple, but also enjoy from time to time Guests and socializing on board. Therefore, from time to time, we offer interested parties the opportunity to experience life on the water, the handling of such a large yacht, and what it means to be self-sufficient as a crew member.

1. Sailing: Family, friends and fellow sailors are welcome

If you're interested in sailing, snorkeling, swimming, exploring new places, enjoying the blue waters to the fullest, and having a varied time, then join us for a while and share our adventure. The sailing yacht Joline has three double cabins with private shower rooms for our guests, so we can accommodate a maximum of six guests. We look forward to welcoming friendly fellow travelers and sailors from all over the world.

2. Sailing: Route planning and travel date

Please keep in mind that our passages are subject to wind and weather conditions. We cannot and do not want to plan the exact start and destination of our trips far in advance. This requires some flexibility from our fellow travelers.

Either you specify the travel date and we tell you which area we will travel to during that time, or you tell us your desired locations and we define the time period.

3. Sailing: What experience do I need?

If you'd like to join us, you may have varying degrees of sailing experience. It would be good if you've been on a boat before and are generally interested in water sports. Sailing experience isn't essential, but more on that later. You also need to be able to swim confidently to join us.

Holiday sailing / coastal sailing

In this area, sailing is focused on vacation and fun water sports. We offer short trips of a few nautical miles or even a few hours of leisurely sailing. You don't need any experience, but you're welcome to participate in sailing maneuvers.

Stage sailing / Gaining sailing experience / Sailing with long-term sailing

If you already have some sailing experience and would like to expand on it, or simply enjoy sailing, the daily segments can be longer. We'll determine the stages and goals together. You can get involved as you please.

If you would like to gain first-hand experience with the seakeeping, sailing characteristics and handling of a cruising catamaran, you can get this from us.

You can gain insight into route planning taking weather forecasts into account.

The same applies to collecting nautical miles, the practical use of the chart plotter, the AIS or the radar system or the marine radio.

All of this can be practiced and understood much better on a long journey when it is applied practically.

Of course, our fellow sailors can provide a nautical mileage certificate upon request.

Transfer trips / mileage trips

From time to time, we also offer longer, multi-day sea voyages. These involve sailing for several days without stopping ashore. Crew members must have sailing experience—not necessarily with catamarans—and be able to stand watch independently and responsibly, even at night. 3. Sailing: Life on board

We warmly welcome crew members with and without sailing experience. The prerequisite is that everyone contributes to life on board according to their abilities and interests. Life on board means cooking together, shopping, sailing, cleaning, playing, talking, chilling, and having fun...

We divide all tasks among our fellow travelers and expect mutual respect and consideration.

Please note that SY Joline is a non-smoking ship and we do not allow pets on board.

4. Sailing: Costs

You will accompany us on part of our private journey.

You sail with a contribution to the boat costs (will be agreed individually beforehand) and to the on-board fund for running expenses such as provisions, mooring fees, diesel, etc., which will be divided equally among all persons on board.
